달은 지구의 유일한 자연 위성입니다. 해와 함께 가장 친숙한 천체입니다. 달은 그 자체로도 멋지고, 신비롭습니다. 물론 자세히 찬찬히 보면 또 다른 맛을 볼 수도 있습니다.

- 지구조는 지구가 반사하는 태양빛이 달의 밤을 밝히는 현상입니다. 지구조는 어둡기 때문에 달이 이지러져 있을 때 관측이 쉽습니다. 지구조와 같은 현상은 다른 행성에서도 일어납니다. 이를 행성조라고 합니다. 지구조도 행성조의 하나인 셈입니다.

- 달은 크게 바다와 고지로 나누어 볼 수 있습니다. 달의 바다는 달에서 어둡고 평평한 지대를 부르는 말입니다. 달의 고지는 달의 바다를 뺀 나머지 지역을 부르는 말입니다. 달의 고지는 달의 바다보다 밝게 보입니다.

[Lunar 100] 달의 대상 목록

안녕하세요.

평소 홀대하던 달을 베란다에서 나마 보고, 찍는 것을 큰 위안이 되고 있는 요즘입니다.

사진도 찍고 달에 대해 조금씩 알아가면서 달도 참 경이로운, 쉽지 않은, 끝이 없는 대상이라는 것을 느끼게 되었습니다.
또 개인적으로 월령별 달 사진을 찍고 싶다는 목표도 생겼습니다.

달 촬영에 대한 자료를 수집하다 우연히 알게된 달 대상 목록에 대해 소개드리고자 합니다.

목록의 이름은 Lunar 100입니다.

Lunar 100은 Charles A. Wood가 skyandtelescope에서 알린 것으로 달에서 볼만한 대상 100가지를 선정한 것 입니다. 국외에는 이미 많이 알려진 것 같습니다. 국내 자료 찾아보았으나 국내 업체 중 가장 악명?이 높은 업체에서 Lunar 100 플라스틱 카드를 어마무시한 가격으로 판매하고 있는 것 외엔 찾기가 쉽지 않았습니다.

특징을 간단히 소개하겠습니다.

- 번호를 매긴 기준

1번 달 그자체 부터 100번 Mare Marginis swirl까지 관측이 쉬운 것 부터 관측이 어려운 순으로 번호를 매겨 놓았습니다.

- 포함된 대상의 유형

루나스월(Reine Gamma가 57번, Mare Marginis swirls이 100번)을 포함해 다양한 유형의 대상이 골고루 포함되어 있는 것 같습니다.

- 관측 시기

달의 칭동, 월령 등으로 하루에 또는 한 달안에 관측하기는 어렵다고 합니다.

- 관측 가능 구경 및 배율

3인치 망원경으로 150~200배 정도의 배율이면 모든 대상을 확인할 수 있지만 몇몇 대상은 6~8인치 정도의 망원경으로 시상 좋은 날 고배율로 보는 것이 가장 좋다고 합니다.
